THE TWO POWERFUL ENCOUNTERS REV. CHRISTINE SHIMANYA
The First Encounter
It was on Febuary 2006, the day of the last elections in our country (Uganda). Early in the morning, I set out to go and share with Archbishop Henry Luke Orombi, the strange things that were happening in my spiritual life. I found him seated at the front lounge of the Palace.
And he said, “So it was you, the female Priest I saw in the vision early in the morning, and it is not usual that I sit in this lounge, so come and pour your heart to me.”
We shared for nearly two hours, he said “You won't see Mama Phoebe, because she is in the upper room, interceding for the country on this day of elections. She will come down to break her fast at 7:00 p.m.”
Finally he told me, “The Lord has a program for you to fulfil, you must not backslide or disobey him at this time when he is shaping and training you. But it is important that you withdraw for four days so that you hear him clearly and get from him what he wants you to do. On my part, I want you booked today by 4:00pm at the Namirembe Guest House. I will ask the workers there to book you the best room, on the upper terrace where it is very quiet. I will personally pay the four days’ bill. I am convinced that the Lord wants to talk to you. Please go home organise what you need, tell your husband that you need to do this and report at 4:00pm. I will call to check if you have reported. Everyday, at 6:00pm I will call the guest house to check how you are doing. Then when I return, I will want to get the report from you, about what the Lord has told you. Let me pray for you so that you can get started."
Day One: I just prayed, but I realised that I was unusually violent in prayer.
Day Two: at 11:00am, I said in prayer, "Lord Jesus if it is really you who has brought me here and you are the one who has called me to this ministry then show yourself to me, as thou art, so that I may also see you physically as Osborn, Abraham and Moses did." Amen. After that I switched on my phone and called a friend, Mrs. Zipora Osiru to lead me in prayer for at least two hours. She came with another lady, Mrs. Esther Okullo. We prayed and I requested her to tell Katherine Enachu to join me but she insinuated that Katherine being in the same situation of prayer, would suggest I shift to her place which became the case. I did shift on the morning of the third day.
At Katherine's Home
Mrs. Zipora Osiru and her husband Professor Osiru, gave me a lift to Katherine's house. We prayed together and chatted for about 2 hours and they went away.
Katherine began to share her experiences in deliverance ministry with me.
At 7:00pm we broke our fast with a cup of tea.
At 8:00pm I told Katherine we should start prayer, but she was neatening up. At 8:30pm, some inner voice whispered to me, "It is time".
So I told Katherine, "It is time." but she was not yet ready. The second time the inner voice said, "It is time", so I repeated to Katherine "It is time". She said, “We have so many hours to pray in the night, and in addition I am not seated near you right now, I will have to shift to come closer Christine!" As she was still talking, I was overwhelmed by the Power of God, and I began to pray intensely while weeping in passion. Tears rolled down to the floor unceasingly for 3 hours. Katherine immediately knew I had a heavenly encounter and she too joined in intense prayer.
Suddenly, I saw the glory and the bright heavenly light above me in a cloud of splendour. It was so dazzling a light that I could not see the face that was in the splendour. I had entered the inner spiritual realm, and it was evident that I was praying in the Spirit. Out of the splendour, the Hand, gave me a brown covered Bible, so I told Katherine "He has given a Bible, she echoed 'Receive'".
Prayer Intensified
The hands brought forward to me a staff, I told Katherine He has given me a staff, she echoed 'Receive!'
The hands gave me a dazzling white robe, she echoed, receive. Then the hands gave me a girdle, she said receive.
The hands put on my head a mitre (the one like the Bishops put on); she said, “Receive”.
It was not over. The hands gave me a Cup for Holy Communion. Katherine said, “Receive”.
I felt expectant all the time, and the wonderful hands, released a well-wrapped gift box all shiny and beautiful. Then the voice said, "The box full of the gifts of the Holy Spirit". I said to Katherine, He has given me a box full of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. She said, “Receive”.
Then something strange happened, I saw President Museveni above me slightly away from the dazzling light, then the voice said, “This country, Uganda has been handed into the hands of Satan's agents, who are devil worshippers.”
Then the President disappered. Immediately, I saw my husband burning in the fire, and he burnt to charcoal, afterwards he appeared with his skin like well refined gold, and then the same Hands covered him with a dazzling white sheet. I was telling Katherine all along what I was seeing, so finally she said, Purification. (Later she told me when I said my husband was burning in the fire, her heart missed a beat!!)
At this point I heard the voice again say, YOU ARE PROTECTED!! And the words were written above me in bold white.
As I was still expectant, my hands lifted involuntarily, I felt a Power lift my hands slowly upwards as if in adoration, I had no control of them absolutely. It was amazing, it was powerful, I felt a presence that I would always love to be in. It was heavenly. As my hands were still up, I saw a glimpse of heaven, that beautiful golden city, it was just a shot of a second. I felt like seeing properly, but it was gone. Then the voice said, "YOU ARE BLESSED, AND THROUGH YOU OTHERS TOO WILL BE BLESSED."
And then in a flicker of a second, all was gone. I was left hopeful, expectant and totally immersed in the heavenly presence all gone. When I opened my eyes, I checked the watch, it was midnight. The whole episode had lasted about three-and-a-half hours. I was left spiritually exhausted. Katherine felt the same. So we went to sleep. I have never had that kind of peaceful sleep in my life; how I would long to have it all the time. I woke up att 7:00am. I asked Katherine what kind of peaceful sleep was this? She said, that is what is called, "The Peace of the Lord that surpasses all understanding!!"
But now, how did my life change?
I began to get more and more visions and trances nearly on a daily basis.
My dream life intensified. I began to have at least more than two spiritual dreams every night and even during day time if I dozed or slept.
I started experiencing the real open heaven during prayer time and feeling of the presence of the Holy Spirit.
I began to receive a word of knowledge, and word of wisdom. In other words, operating in the revelation and the Power gifts of healing.
I began to have the divine burden to pray for the nation and intercede for the church and families.
My Repentance intensified - I could repent for the whole day.
I began to thank God all the time, whether for small things or big things. I no longer take anything for granted!
I felt like blessing people all the time.
I felt I should forgive all people, those who still hurt me and those who hurt me in the past. The love became genuine.
I seriously began to engage on warfare, I would just 'attack' certain territories of the enemy.
Physically my voice changed.
There was a tremendous increase and love of praise and worship. I feel like praising and worshipping all the time.
Increase in reading the scriptures and more hours of prayer and intercession.
I released all bitterness, hurts, hatred from heart, and I felt lighter and lighter every day.
Feel like hearing from God every day.
My giving has tremendously increased!!
Many words, have disappeared from my vocabulary, instead, I have acquired another vocabulary!! Glory be to God.
I am more sensitive to sin and sinning!
The discerning of spirits has greatly increased!
The hatred for the enemy and sin has increased. Now I know most times when the enemy’s tricks surface!
I have been able to identify with my spiritual giftings and anointing.
I love my family, husband, children, relatives and my congregation more than before.
I have a strong desire to meet more and more of God's servants everywhere and any time.
I have a stronger feeling to get children of God delivered and healed from spiritual bondages.
I strongly feel the Church and our Nation needs to be spiritually delivered.
